Julian Morelli
Instruments: Drums, Guitar, Bass, Songwriting/Theory and Rock Ensemble
Julian got his first kit on his 13th brithday and learned by playing along with his favorite metal bands. At the same time, he was enrolled in his High School Orchestra, Jazz Band and had a few bands on the side, ranging from skate-punk to classic rock. Soon after Julian picked up the guitar, and like he did with the drums, he listened to his favorite guitar players and had to emulate them note for note.
After high school he enrolled at the Berklee School of Music. While there he listened and played everything, including the bass guitar. He wanted to be a one-man band that could record, produce and arrange. Just before graduating, Julian joined a Boston based band, "Brick Park", which he has been with for seven years. In the mean time, he wrote songs and recorded albums. .
He has been teaching drums, guitar and bass for 7 years and has been a member of our faculty for 2. His mottos are: listen to everything you can, play, play, play and remember that technique is only a tool. It cannot replace what you really want to express when playing.
