Joe Pino started playing trumpet at the age of ten. In High School, he played with the Beverly High School Jazz Band competing at jazz festivals put on by The International Association of Jazz Educators. Joe has appeared at many jazz venues with “The Joe Pino Quintet” in Boston such as Ryles Jazz Club and Chianti Jazz Lounge as well as in New York City at Miles Jazz Caffe, Caffe Vivaldi, Smalls Jazz Club, The Fat Cat, and Cleopatra’s Needle. He has also made appearances with The Boston Horns, Soul Force V, The Boston Horns Big Band and has performed in theatrical pit orchestras for productions of Hairspray, Guys and Dolls, Curtains, Music Man, Oliver, Anything Goes, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and The Pajama Game. In July 2010, Joe played trumpet in the musical production of Gypsy at The North Shore Music Theatre staring Vicki Lewis. Joe is an endorsed Adams Flugelhorn Artist.

Joe Pino has been teaching all levels and styles of trumpet since graduating from Berklee in 2008. He currently teaches students in the Beverly Public School System and is on the faculty at Stoneridge Montessori School in Beverly. Joe also teaches clinics with high school jazz ensembles at Ryles Jazz Club in Cambridge, MA. Joe uses the “Arban’s Complete Method Book” for trumpet technique along with “The Jazz Theory Book” by Mark Levine for music theory. On piano he teaches all styles, beginner to intermediate and uses the “Bastien Piano Basics Books” by James and Jane Bastien.
