Erin’s 1st night out with “Caspian”

Played our first set last night.  Went very well.  Tuesday night in DC and had a full room.  Really looking forward to this tour.  Sold a bunch of merch and rocked some faces.  On to Virginia tonight and playing with our good friends “Gifts from Enola.”  Great band.  Check them out if ya can.  Van is running fine.  Gear is all in order.  Weather has been perfect.  No complaints.  The poster above was made specifically for this tour by a friend in Portland, Maine.  They were all individually screen printed and they are beautiful.

cheers ya’ll,

Erin

Erin Burke-Moran and Caspian on Tour this Spring

Hey ya’ll.

We’re heading out for another monumental, earth-shattering tour.  This time it’s almost three months of nothing but Rock ‘n Roll. We will be playing with Arms and Sleepers (Boston locals), Constants (also from Boston and also our dear, dear brothers), Red Sparrows (L.A.) and EF (Sweden) amongst many other great bands.  The first seven weeks will be spent in the US and the remaining time will be overseas.  We are so pumped for this one.  Our most recent album “Tertia” is doing really well.  We have been getting some pretty great press recently including a nice write-up in The Washington Post and a sweet interview/CD review in the hip music mag OUTBURN (issuse #52).  Also, one of our songs was featured in the Olympic coverage this past week!  Below is a list of our tour dates along with some press quotes.  There are still some more dates to be added as well.  It’s gonna be crazy.  Make sure to check back here.  I am going to be keeping you guys up to date on my travels with a tour blog.  We’re playing a show in Cambridge on the 27th of March.  It’s a Saturday night, so if you wanna check us out let me know and I’ll give you the details.  Just want to say that it is a great pleasure to spend time with you and to share in one of life’s greatest joys…music!!!  Keep rockin’ and don’t forget to be FABULOUS!

Cheers.

OF TERTIA:

Nothing less than an exemplary and genuinly revelatory excercise in emotionally devastating post-rock. 8/10 - ROCKSOUND

Caspian, a Massachusetts post-rock crew, knows that “epic” doesn’t have to mean an album of five 16+ minute songs, and the crew have the melodies to prove it. - BROOKLYN VEGAN

This batch of songs is anchored by brilliant, restless songwriting. No boring twenty-minute crescendos here. Tertia is full of surprises… There’s scarcely a better post-rock record on the horizon. 9/10 - PREFIXMAG

Tertia is just as effective when it sparkles as when it storms. Caspian has the instrumental firepower to make a big noise when it feels like it. But the melodies, timbres and harmonics are so fully realized that “Tertia” would be mighty, even without its climaxes. - THE WASHINGTON POST

A dense work of post-rock with purpose. - RHAPSODY

Bluesy E7 Lick

This is my first free online guitar lesson video.  It’s geared more towards intermediate to advanced players, but hopefully everyone can get a little something out of it - it’s a cool lick, if I do say so myself, and whether you understand the theory or not, I think you’ll it very useful in a number of situations.
